Famed singer, songwriter, and producer Park Jin Young has organized the Korea Food Expo 2008. Along with him, he will bring his creations Wonder Girls, 2AM, and 2PM, along with several other popular Korean singers like Younha and Wheesung to the event in Seoul, Korea. The event held on Sunday, October 12, will be used to promote Korean food with celebrities. The special events at the event will be things such as "The Similarities Between Music and Food", "Star's Recipe", "Star's Dining Table", and more.

At NYAF 2008, I had the pleasure of meeting many artists in the artist alley. I myself am an artist so it was definitely exciting to see all the different works of art on sale and on display. I must say, I was very impressed. If I wasn't so strapped for cash, I would've bought some prints (if the T.M.Revolution booth wasn't there)! Some of these artists appear at more anime conventions than NYAF, of course. At AnimeNext 2008, I remember seeing quite a few of these artists in the artist alley.

Animal rights group listen up! This is your chance to hold another protest. Just get those placards and banners ready. Make sure you stick some adorable Monkey pictures on them. There is this restaurant in Japan who uses two monkeys as their servers. Yes, actual monkeys! Not to be confused with those monkey-like servers who work at your neighborhood TGIF or Chili's . Check out the clip here. Perhaps I should start using monkeys to clean my apartment too.

A few months ago, I was shocked by the US dollar to Korean won exchange rate when it was actually less than 900 KRW to . After having the exchange rate at a steady 1,000 KRW to for the last decade, that low rate really hit me in the face. It's kind of ironic that it did, though. I grew up in the mid-90s, where it was 800 KRW to . But then the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis aka IMF Crisis occurred, and I remember the won rate going up high as 1,800 KRW to . Of course I didn't really understand the implication of such things.

No it's not because the apocalypse is coming. It's because the slut of all sluts Tila Tequila is single again and bitch will screw anyone she sees. The bisexual ho has ended her gayelle relationship with Courtenay Semel, daughter of Yahoo! mogul Terry Semel. After a few brief months of bumping clams with Courtenay, Tila's cooch probably started screaming for more variety. I bet she is on the prowl now for anyone who breathes to share her crabs with.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….and no, I’m not talking about Christmas shopping. I’m talking Asian film festivals, baby. Truthfully, they pop up all around the calendar, but two biggies are this week. Here in the East, check out the First Annual Philly Asian-American Film Festival, October 9-12. Yes, that’s right—you can be a part of the inaugural run. They got the ball rolling with much hard work and grass-roots marketing.

I have always believed that there are only three living beings in this world that won't go away easily. Cher, cockroaches and the bitchy homeless guy near my office who would utter stuff like "well, it's good karma to give money you know" whenever I ignore him. Now there seems to be a fourth. Even my endless prayer to the God of Ultimate Drought cannot seem to take care of this sore in my eye. He is the feminine looking, non-talented and uber annoying Korean Pop star, Rain.

Okay so they’ve finally casted the lead female for Hana Yori Dango, unfortunately it’s not some sexy boy toy who can pass off as a girl. It’s Gu Hye Seon. Never seen her in anything before but she’s won a few big awards: 2007 SBS Acting Awards (New Star Award) and 2006 KBS Acting Awards (New Actress Award). Not only that but she’s sang the theme song for her drama Pure 19 and been in a few music videos. She’s got to be good right?

Daniel Pink gave a greatly entertaining and informative lecture at Japan Society, New York, tonight about the incredible spread of manga around the world. Ningin blogger Mia Lerda and I thought we were going to hear more about Mr. Pink's new book The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need, but Mr. Pink gave a larger socio-economic lesson on the power of the dojinshi in Japan's manga-based economy operating under amoku no ryokai. Sounds complex? Well, it is, or near impossible, in a lawsuit-prone USA.

Voting for the Cosplay Photoshoot Contest is official closed as of 12PM today. It’s been a long week and we’re happy to finally announce the winner! We’ve gone through over 500 contest entries and chosen 50 finalists which is now down to the top three. Again, the top three will be interviewed by our Ningin Bloggers while the overall best cosplayer voted by the users will receive two super exclusive tickets to the private premiere of the Megaman Movie and to Comic Con in February 2009.

Why is it the most important thing for some people is that the candidate has the same religion as you, or talks the same way, or has the same skin color? Would most of America be happy with a moron they identified with and felt was most similar to them, even if it meant the country was being run into the ground? Do their similarities trump anything, even performance and ability? And in today’s world where so many people are influenced by mass media and group-think, doesn’t the lack of independent thought result in the breakdown of true democracy? You can’t have real democracy if among the public too many people are bigots, xenophobes, or idiots; at some point the system breaks down that way. Check out the article below about the problems his campaign is facing in talking to voters who simply can’t bring themselves to vote for a non-White Christian male. Also, check out this article about The Bradley Effect.

Lol Entertainment Weekly made fun of it by putting John Stewart and Stephen Colbert dressed as a Middle Eastern and a Terrorist doing the fist pump in the oval office.
Did you hear about when he gave his wife the fist pump and fox called it a terrorist hand shake? lol
I hate seeing commercials that bash Obama for NOT being white.
All religion is generally about getting along (Yes, even satanism). However, any religion when taken to the extreme kinda turns into this crusade of hate.
