Jewelry member Seo In Young is no Cinderella for sure. That ridiculous thing on top of her head called her hair is made fun of when she appears on Star Golden Bell on August 9th. The show compared her to animation characters such as Wallace from “Wallace and Gromit” and a drawing stating the resemblance is exact. Anyone with eyes would have to agree. While I expected mushroom head to break down and cry, she actually laughed the whole thing off and took it like a man. Her response to whole ordeal was that there was no resemblance at all and later said maybe she’s starting a trend. Yeah okay…
On another note, what the hell was the show thinking? It was all fun and games but it was pretty cruel not that her hair didn’t deserve it.

Not everyone detests Paris Hilton. Apparently, bitch has many fans in Asian countries like Japan and Korea. This is why Japanese actress/singer Aya Ueto is going to play a character inspired by that talentless skank in a romantic comedy titled “Celeb to Daihinmin”. The drama series is produced by Fuji TV and it also co-stars a relatively new actor, Yusuke Kamiji. The plot revolves around Alice Hirata (played by Ueto), the spoiled and naive daughter of a wealthy hotel magnate. Kamiji plays an impoverished widower raising three children. Despite their very different backgrounds, romance is born between these two characters.

Koreans has been known to be the best gamers but now some would say they’re the best break dancers. According to Planet Bboy, “the Koreans on a technical level are untouchable”. One particular crew worth mentioning from Korea is the Expression dance crew. They were originally a bboy crew but supposedly now they’re a hip-hop dance theater troupe. Whatever they’re called, they’re absolutely amazing.

Since Elena has already described parts of the opening ceremony, I thought it would be nice to have some visual aid. I fell asleep during parts of the ceremony, but good thing it was only when the countries came out to walk (by the time I woke up they still weren’t done). Well anyways like Elena said, the opening ceremony was amazing. It was something I’ve never seen before both artistically and technically. I love LCD screen so when I saw HUGE movable LCD screen, I was astound. China has really set the bar for the Olympics and I can only imagine how the next two and half weeks will be like.
Best of luck to all the athletes.

I’m always so happy that the weekend is here, especially since this weekend is the mark of the beginning of the Olympics! Be sure to catch it on NBC at 7:30PM EST. Chances are you’ve seen the sneak peek of the opening and you’re probably thinking how awesome it’s going to be. Honestly, what’s better than magical whales? Anyways I hope the weather clears up for China tonight.
Back to the point, since today is 8/8/08 I’ve decided to do 8 videos instead of the usual 5. Now this week isn’t the usual music round up but rather music featured in some of the best games (most of which are Square Enix games :X ). I’m not bias but with great games comes some great music and these composers are legen – wait for it and I hope you’re not lactose intolerant because the second part is – dary. Enjoy and happy 8/8/08!

Today is my girl Faye Wong‘s birthday. Today also marks the opening of the XXIX Summer Olympics in Beijing. 8-8-08 is the most auspicious day in the Chinese calendar. Why? The number 8 sounds like the pronunciation for “Prosperity” in Mandarin or Cantonese. A lot of Chinese are getting married today. I am not surprised if many expecting Chinese moms are in the labor ward trying to push their babies out today, before the clock strikes twelve. I bet you can also spot a lot of Chinese in the casinos today, because gambling on Aug 8 will guarantee a sure win, for the owners of the casinos that is. I am going to get myself some Mega Millions lottery tickets after work today. Happy 08-08-08!

Took long enough to get here but we’re down to the bottom three. This week had two challenges that revolved around the 80’s; not nearly as fun or exciting as last season’s hip hop history challenge. I thought this challenge was completely rigged for Fanny Pak but after seeing the episode I guess it’s no surprise.
All three crews performed their first routine to the “groove step” challenge. Keep in mind they only had a week to prepare both routines.

Fifty one Korean beauties competed in the 2008 Miss Korea Pageant held on August 6th at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul. The winner? Definitely nothing compared to the previous years or even this year’s Mr. Hong Kong. Her name is Na Re Keum.
While the rest of her is really cute (and by that I mean the crown and her dress), that face of hers could use a few touch ups. Even the runner ups look more pleasant. She kind of reminds me of an ajuma covered in rhinestones.

As we gear up for next month’s release of Ping Pong Playa, here’s more of my conversation with Roger Fan. An interview is always about the artist’s thoughts. But we had such a great rapport, I couldn’t help but share a few of my own. Roger has a natural love for the human race that makes him an excellent listener. Here’s more on Asian film, American film, stereotypes, and Justin Lin.

IGN was ninja enough to go undercover (not really) and record footage of the upcoming handheld Square Enix games. Go DS and PSP! If you didn’t know, I’m a big Square Enix fan so I’m psyched to hear they’re pumping out a couple handheld games for the rest of the year. No more boring train rides!
