I’m a big Final Fantasy fan as well as an all around Square Enix fan. So when I heard that they were doing Final Fantasy I, II and IV remakes, you could imagine how happy I was. Not only that but they released a spin off of the VII (my favorite one) called Crisis Core which I’m currently playing. So far it’s been awesome. But wait, the series left off at XII, so where’s XIII?

According to the Square Enix website, they’re release a lot of new games and remakes of past ones. So far there has been Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy IV remake, Star Ocean, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes and more. No sign of Final Fantasy XIII but it’s been said that the game will come out this December; however, they keep changing the date.. While I would rather play Final Fantasy Dissidia, I have Play Station 3 that’s waiting to be loved.

With so many remakes, could there be a potential remake for the all time favorite Final Fantasy VII? While the creators thought the idea would be cool, the original team will be difficult to put together due to scheduling issues. I think if they can create a whole movie (FFVII: Advent Children) out of it, 3 branch series (Crisis Core for PSP, Dirge of Cerberus for PS2, Before Crisis for Mobile) in addition to merchandise such as the FFVII energy drinks and potion drink, then they should definitely have time for a remake.

I guess for now I’ll be busy with all the remakes or maybe I’ll finally finish XII which has now taken me a year.
