Is this even a legitimate understanding of how karma works??? Well Sharon Stone for one needs to learn how it works, as Christian Dior has pulled its spokeswoman from all of its advertising in China following her remarks from the red carpet at Cannes last Thursday.
But seriously folks, this begs the question, how does karma work?
Is it really something so linear and straightforward to understand as the citizens of southwest China suffered death and destruction for their government’s policy towards Tibet? That’s like saying the residents of New Orleans suffered Katrina because of the Iraq War. How the hell does this make any sense?
This is not to say that I don’t believe in karma - I do, but more on a personal level of monitoring my own conduct and its consequences on me and others. Knowledge and mastery over yourself is the most you can ask for in life. The moment you project that on someone else is when you start to risk sounding like a judgmental fool, like you know who.
