What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It's an easy way to distribute headlines, notices and content. It is used by browsers to organize all that stuff for easy reading. Once you subscribe to an RSS feed, you'll find the latest blog posts listed and updated automatically! (How cool is that?!)

In Firefox 3:

  • In Firefox, RSS is also referred to as "Live Bookmarks" or "Live Feeds".
  • Click on the RSS FEED icon and then click on SUBCRIBE NOW. You'll now have a new bookmark folder that will list the latest forum topics or blogs on Ningin.com! As new posts go up, your Live Bookmarks will update automatically with the latest headlines.

Safari 3:

  • Safari treats an RSS as a Bookmark. Go to Safari --> Preferences and then click on the RSS option. Select where you'd like your RSS Bookmark to go (Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, or both). Next you should set how often the browser will query for new information. We recommend hourly. Some sites will ban your computer if you check their RSS feed too often.
  • Click on the RSS FEED icon and then click on BOOKMARK THIS LINK on the bottom of the right hand column. You'll now have a new bookmark that will bring you to a list the latest forum topics or blogs on Ningin.com! As new posts go up, Safari will update automatically.
