EXP Upgrade - Pin Value, Fan Points

As part of the ongoing EXP upgrades, we’ve recently added two new features that I would like to explain in more detail. The first is Pin Value, which introduces the concept of pin rarity and attaches a value to that. So the more rare a pin, the more value it has. Simple enough. The second feature is Fan Points. I thought it’ll be really cool to see who is truly the biggest fan of something and our EXP system allows us a way to quantify that. You’ll notice that next to, or at the bottom of our blog post, there are Fan Tags. This is an easy way to see what artist or band is associated with that blog post. Whenever you do an action associated with that blog post, such as comment on it, you’ll earn fan points. So a post that has a 2NE1 tag will earn you 2NE1 points when you comment on it.

For most of us here, this week has been epic for the release of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIII. I’m not even much of a gamer and I know this much. I also know that despite the title, FF XIII is more fantasy than it is final. This week we’d like to make your fantasy come true by giving away a copy of Final Fantasy XIII.

Mixr Rewards and what winning looks like

Not long ago, we launched this epic <strong>Mixr Rewards giveaway</strong> of a choice between a Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii along with their respective controllers as second place prizes. Entering this contest was a piece of mochi. All you had to do was post a comment to any of our blog posts and have it appear on your Facebook wall from Ningin or Ziggytek. The more active you were, the higher your chances to become a winner. This is basically what winning looks like:

How did you come across Ningin?

What is your story?

How I found Ningin:
It was 2008 and it was when I became infatuated with BoA. Ningin was holding a couple of BoA competitions (I found out through BoAjjang) and http://boa.ningin.com/ was created. I entered but didn’t win. From then on, I subscribed to Ningin’s RSS feed and commented on the blogs whenever possible. Usually, it was just a short comment. Eventually I won an autographed Beat Freakz. I was their first winner from the southern hemisphere!

Then I discovered the forums. ~~
