He didn’t really have to give up Medicine to blog. You usually blog whenever you want. Then when his blog gets big, he can quit!

Maybe he didn’t want to be a doctor?

If I had a monitor like that, I would quit medicine and become a blogger too.

I know a lot of doctors, and they all tell me that the professional landscape for doctors is getting worse and worse.  America is so obsessed with litigation and other legal nonsense that most doctors pay an arm and a leg for malpractice insurance, and that all the potential liability concerns really hampers the way they conduct their work.

Combine that with how much it costs to go to medical school, as well as how long med school takes...and it’s not necessarily true that you make more money as a doctor, and the risks are much higher.

That’s so sad that they have to pay so much. It doesn’t pay to be a doctor anymore. :(

Since I’m no longer in the same field I went to college for, I have to say--it’s so hard to figure out what you want to do at age 18! Kudos to him for being self-aware and earning a living where his heart is.

Seriously, how can you decide your life so early!

At least he found something he enjoys doing.

Wowzers! Surely this means eventually it’ll be easier to get into med school! :D Hoho! My future son, the doctor!

I think being a doctor is more fulfilling. haha
