I just got into Bleach the day after Ningin’s event coverage of Cosplay Day at Kinokuniya Bookstore. This series started really slow with a lot of character development, not atypical of anime. I think the first 30+ episodes were spent on this before the main plot of rescuing Rikua from Soul Society started. Now I’m around 50 and it’s really intense. So I’m curious:

What do you guys like and dislike about the series?

Hitsugaya! He’s such a cutie.

Itchigo can be really annoying sometimes like when he kept fighting with Ganju but then he’s really bad ass.

Who are your favorite captains?

I think every single captain was really unique. It’s hard for me to pick just one, but in terms of who’s strongest, Kuchiki Byakuya from 6th squad seems strongest. And 13th captain Ukitake Jyuushiro is weakest by far because he can just get sick in the middle of a battle and lose.

I dislike fillers in general..i like how ichigo as an important character he always changes clothes like a normal human being,unlike other anime..Favorite characters are ,Kenpachi Zaraki, Urahara kisuke,and Hitsugaya Toushiro. Annoying characters are Rukia,Renji,ishida,tousen,gin,and all the rest of the hollow pricks!

Bleach does have a lot of fillers and flashbacks. They also do a lot of recycling where the often times the first 5 mins of a new eps is the last 5 minutes. That’s SO annoying.

Hitsugaya? Eh Kenpachi is the best.

What do you guys like and dislike about the series?
Like the story line, the paranormal ideals and worlds intertwining. The fact that everyone on the show isnt all japanese you have latino caracters and caucasian characters.

What are you guys talking about, the strongest captains are easily General Yamamoto Genryuusai and Captain Aizen. I kinda stop at like 100 or so do i dunno if those two ever fought, but I would bet that Aizen would kick Genryuusai’s ass.

At what episode number does the fillers end and the main story goes on again? Aizen is probably the most powerful death god in the series.

I always thought it was the Commander Chief.

I started watching since everyone seems to be talking about it. I’m only on 5 but so far it’s okay.

I loved the whole saving Rukia part… After that, I really got lost! I do have some volumes of the manga though. I love Tite Kubo’s style.

I don’t understand why the creators of anime spend so much time on fillers and killing the series.

The ONLY good part was the beginning when they went to save Rukia.
