Bleach The Series

I don’t really get why they called it Bleach…

I don’t really get why they called it Bleach…

No clue but L from Death Note...From creator Tsugumi Ohba- “I wanted a letter that felt strong by itself, but not many seemed to work as a name. I thought about “I” and “J” but they didn’t feel as good as “L”.

To think a master of Anime spent so much time thinking of how nice a single letter was as a name is kinda funny...and slightly sad...but a funny sad...hm…

How does that answer my question raspberry

How does that answer my question :P

Sorry. I was reading Death Note #13 on my way home from work and was laughing too hard at Ohba’s interview. Your question kicked his reponse into my head.

Another member on here, Linda Thai, had a good theory of why Bleach is named as it is. It’s the idea of what bleach does of cleaning out everything or putting it back to a new state. When you think of what Bleach the Anime/Manga is with the Hallows and what the job of Reapers is then the title fits.

Supposedly they call it Bleach because Ichigo’s hair is bleached.

No one is actually sure but some say it’s because Tite Kubo is a Nirvana fan and one of their albums is named Bleach.

Yeah googling it comes up with too many ideas of why it’s called Bleach but I’m surprised no one has actually asked the creators.

The hair would make the most sense.

Really no one knows the real reason?

Really no one knows the real reason?

Now here is the stupidity of it all. The creator of Bleach came to the San Diego Comic Con and did a Q&A;session with fans. NONE of them bothered to ask why it’s called Bleach!

Tite Kubo at San Diego Comic Con

Guess not. haha

Well there’s a ton of other questions that are probably more important.

Haven’t had much time to watch much since I finished the Soul Society part, but so far this teaser/filler with the bounto is actually pretty interesting. Almost...a natural continuation I would say.

I work here.

Haha… another rumor is that they misprounced Breach as Bleach

Did anyone find it weird that when the Aarancars showed up and when they went to Heuco Mundo almost the entire series turn Mexican. It’s like they exported Bleach writing and labor to a Latin American country.
