Arnel Pineda: The Pinoy Who Wouldn’t Stop Believing

From the Elena Stevenson blog, by elenastevenson on 2008-09-02 17:17:52 (original link)

Somebody give me a lighter. Journey, the ultimate stadium-rock band, has just taken the stage. Oh, the guitar solos...the nostalgia. But these days, there’s a different face mixed in with the aging Frisco white guys. It’s the boyishly cute mug of Arnel Pineda, recently emigrated from the Philippines, who’s now the lead singer of the band. His story’s something of a rock-and-roll fairy tale.

Pinoy pride!

I never knew you were a rocker Elena.

They’re the ones that originally sang “Anyway you want it”?

Awesome, a rocker mom. haha

Cool story.

I’ve listened to Journey’s music before and I like their style. I have also listened to Arnel Pineda and his voice is beautiful.

I love Journey so much. I remember hearing this story a while ago. I’m happy for him!

First time I heard of them but I likey!

I don’t know very many pinoy rockers. Pretty cool.

He’s kind of cute in that mature rocker sort of way. haha

Bluesky likes older guys?

Hey, everyone, it makes me happy to share a good story. Pinoy pride indeed!

Sakura, I was quite a headbanger as a high schooler in the 90s.

Psh he may be old but he’s still a guy!

Haha That’s so cool Elena! Do you still rock out now? ;P I can imagine you playing guitar hero.

Rofl I would love to see that.
