New Ningin Blogger: Tara Popp

From the Tara Popp blog, by Hoc on 2008-09-17 15:48:35 (original link)

Ningin has always had a lot of visitors from South Korea and other Asian countries. We’re quite proud of that actually because it means we’re transcending national and cultural boundaries. It doesn’t matter who or where you are, if you’re interested in Asian media, we’re happy to have you here! So to better serve our international members (and really everyone in general) allow me to introduce Tara Popp, our newest blogger from South Korea:

차렷, 경래, 안녕하세요!  (Cha-lyut, gyung-lae, ahnyoung-ha-sae-yo! = Attention! Bow and say hello!) Well that is one way to say hello in South Korea, especially at an institute, I suppose.

Welcome Tara!

Oo! I was wondering if she was a new blogger. ^^

Ottoshimnikka~!

There’s more where that came from buddy LOL…
Welcome Tara!!! I need updates on Bae Seulgi~ Please write something about her~

Welcome welcome! I LOVE how you like the Gyakuten Saiban series. The whole series is probably my favorite game to play! What’s also great is that your name is so similar to mine! That’s about one letter off! Ha ha!

haha that’s kind of cute actually....tara and lara.

Thanks for the all the warm welcome!  XD I’m glad to be here!  And to prevent the multitude of me spamming the place, here’s some of my responses to your posts.

Haha!  Well, I would have stayed silent until this was posted, but our lovely Lan ordered (NOT REALLY.  I’m just being snarky XD.  Lan would never do that!) me to participate here. XD Not that I’m complaining! ^_^

Ottoshimnikka~!

I had to stop and think what this was . . . XD That particular phrase, it sounds more like it is in “U” rather than the “O”, so it threw me off for a bit.  XD Just letting you know!  Transliterations are a tricky bugger.

Hello~!

Nope!  We actually never met when she was here.  I was up in Seoul, and she was in Daegu.  Also, I graduated years before she did (gosh I feel old!), so yeah.

Yes, Korean food is <33333.  Except I have to be in a mood for them.  Lately, I’ve been on a bibimbab kick.

Yes, it’s the attack of the Koreans. XD And Simon, er, I had no idea who Bae Seulgi was.  I had to look her up on Wikipedia, and after I read who she was, that would explain why I don’t know her.  I don’t follow K-Pop any more, so to get back into that scheme would take a while for me. X_X;; I can’t guarantee anything, though.  XD Sorry !

And yeah!  Our names are similar!  One letter off!  How do you pronounce your name?  Is it like . . . Ler-rah (rhymes with TERRA?) or more like Lah-rah (like the “ah” where you say open your mouth and say AHHH thing?) Just wondering!

Your blog title, Clashing Seoul, makes me thing that you’re fighting or something.

My name is pronounced Lah-ra. People get it wrong all the time. Ha ha! How do you pronounce your name?

Well, in a way, I am. XD Especially during rush hour and fighting through the crowds just to get somewhere. XD Honestly, I couldn’t think of another title.

I pronounce it like TERRA. XD People get my name wrong ALL the time, too.  It always drove me nuts when they pronounce, “Sara” into SERRA, but when they see my name, they pronounce it something entirely different. X_X;; Aigoo.
