I just saw this movie and was disappointed. Apart from Rain’s bad acting, the storyline wasn’t as interesting as I thought it would be. The loud flashing graphic weren’t that great either, I think I almost had a seizure.

What did everyone else think?

I want to see it because the Wachoviski? brothers are part of it but I’ve heard so many bad things.

I’m about to go see it...I hope its worth the $8…

$8? Is that the under 12 price? This move was visually interesting, but not much else. It pretty much wasn’t good.

i thought it was good. not the best but decent enough

i’m pretty disappointed. what a waste

Definitely a waste of money. So sad when you figure it’s big time directors, big budget movie, and Rain.

I know the plot wasn’t that good but I kinda enjoyed it. It help that I didn’t go into the movie with expectations u kno. I mean, Rain was in it so it couldn’t be that good raspberry

Yea plot wasn’t good but hey it was crazy awesome visuals. So yea, I don’t mind spending $10 for that ^^

Were any of you fans of the old TV show?

I’m going to see this because I was a huge Speed Racer fan as a kid…

I know what Speed Racer is. But it wasn’t around when I was growing up…

Finally saw this the other day.  As a huge fan of the original cartoon, I really liked it.  So much of it was taken directly from the original...everything from the aerial shots of the cars, the costumes, the dialog, even down to the inflections in the characters’ voices.  But I can definitely see how someone not familiar with the cartoon would find it not all that great.

My biggest issues with it were the casting of Sparky (the mechanic) and Spritle (the kid).  They had stayed so true to the cartoon in every other aspect of the film, but these two weren’t right, and I think that’s why they failed to be as good at the comic relief as they should have been.  On the other hand, I thought Matthew Fox was perfect as Racer X, as was Roger Allam as Royalton (the bad guy).
