Thousands Killed By Huge China Quake

Reports from China say that the death toll from the earthquake could exceed 50,000

Done. I donated. That’s it, is there like a can food or clothing drive? I guess it would be hard to get it over there…

Good post, Hoc!

The events in Myanmar and China are mind numbing, really every little bit helps, especially right now as people still frantically rush to dig for survivors or provide water and food.  Lots of families just lost their only children/grandchildren, and a lot of kids just became orphans.

ty Andrew. I’ve updated this post with more information if you want to directly send aid to China.

I work here.

glad someone is doing something

I’m writing today from Mercy Corps. We wanted thank the readers of this blog for your donations to the relief efforts in China.

As of today, we are mounting an emergency response for survivors through its local partner China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA). Together, we are procuring food, water, clothing and shelter supplies for affected families. We have deployed two experienced staff members from our Beijing office to help coordinate these efforts.

If you’d like more information about how we are responding, please visit: http://www.mercycorps.org/chinaearthquake

Again, we thank you for your support of our efforts.

mercycorps,

We should be thanking YOU for the efforts you are taking in these and other world humanitarian efforts!  Hope we can help raise awareness and participation among our community…

Thank you Mercy Corps for your support in China. I know it means so much to the victims as well as us.
