Mixr Legions is a team-based, social game that combines elements of the popular Risk board and the domination game type in Call of Duty with our EXP system, which keeps track of all the activities that you do across the Mixr Network of sites. (You can learn about our EXP system via this guide.) In Mixr Legions, Mixr users are separated into small teams called Legions and one (or more) user is designated to be the leader or Legion General. Each Legion has the objective of scoring the most Legion Points (LPs) at the end of a fixed time interval. LPs are earned via a variety of ways:
1. Daily Domination - For the purpose of Mixr Legions, each Mixr site will be separated into battlefields. The team with the highest EXP total on each of our sites at the end of each day will win Legion points. For example, The Mixr Legion team with the highest EXP total for Ningin at the end of the day will earn LPs. The team with the highest EXP totals for Girlybubble at the end of the day will earn LPs and so on for all our participating sites. We repeat this every day for a week or a month, depending on the length of the scoring period which will be specified at the start of every Legion Match.
2. Blog Games - Legions can earn points by winning certain blog games like "Photo Shuffles", "Song Snippits", "Trivia", and other non-majority type games. Whenever one of your Legion teammates wins these blog games, your Legion will also earn LPs.
3. MLG Matches - Legions will be able to compete against each other in MLG matches with the winning Legion earning LPs. Learn more about MLG Matches here.
4. Buying Legion Points - A portion of your daily EXP totals will be converted into in-game gold which you can use to purchase LPs.
5. Special Operations - Legion Generals can use gold from the Legion Bank Account to fund special operations such as stealing LPs from other Legions.
6. Territories - Each land owned in the Territories game will automatically generate Legion Points. See the Territories section for more details.
7. Voices - Having a blog post published in our Voices community blog.
8. Mystery Box - You can win Legion Points among other things from the Mystery Box feature on your team's homepage.
9. Scavenger Hunts - Being among the first to find something on the internet that we ask for.
The Legion General has the added responsibility of organizing their Legion as they lead their team into victory. With multiple Legions fighting across multiple sites, not every battlefield is winnable thus resources such as gold and player time should be used carefully.
Most of the Special Operations features are only available to the Legion General. Future ones will be usable by Legion members. Legion Members should consider transferring their gold to the Legion bank account to fund these special operations.
Territories is inspired by the popular Risk board game. In Territories, your objective is to own the most amount of land squares which generates Legion Points on a daily basis. The more land you own, the more Legion Points are generated automatically for your Legion.
Buying Land: You can only buy land that is adjacent to the lands that you own. A land square is considered adjacent if it is North, South, East, or West to another land. Corner land squares only have two lands adjacent to them and thus are the most defensively secure. The adjacent rule is ignored for your first land square. Choose that square wisely. Open land squares are gray in shade and owned land is displayed in color. Only Legion Generals are able to buy land. The money will be withdrawn from Legion accounts.
After you have purchased a land square, you can access more options by clicking on the newly bought land square. These options include:
Upgrade Land: Lands can also be upgraded to give you more Legion Points. Each land square can be upgraded four times with each upgrade costing successively more.
Defend Your Land: You can buy troops for your land via the Buy Troops command. Any member of a legion can buy troops. The money is withdrawn from player accounts. Different land squares may have different defensive bonuses. Islands for example have a 20% bonus. An island square with a defensive troops strength of 100 will effectively have 120 for defense. The defensive bonus also increases the cost of the land accordingly.
Attacking Others: You can take over another Legion's land by attacking them and killing all the defensive troops. First you need to buy offensive troops. You can do so via the Buy Soldiers command on your Legion Team page. Any member can buy troops but only Generals can Attack Land. Before starting an attack, you can use the Scout Land command to see the relative strength of the defensive troops. This will help gauge how large of an army is needed to attack and win the battle. To initiate an attack, click on your opponent's land square and then click Attack Land. You can only attack lands that are adjacent to yours. Once an attack is initiated, the system will run through several thousand scenarios and will generally award victory to the largest army. This process will take some time so please be patient.
The Grand Project is a special task that once completed, will give a very high amount of Legion Points. These tasks will require the teamwork and participation of every member on a Legion team. The requirements and details of a Grand Project will be different for each session. Look for an accompanying announcement specifying the Grand Project detail for each Legion Session. Team members can check the status of their Grand Project via their Team page.
