Killer Headline, has a killer story. Would love to see it has a full film.. Love the guy on the phone in the background.
wow… i’m speechless. is it me or is this film chock-filled with symbolism and visual metaphors. i think i’ve watched this like 10 times! LOL! i keep noticing little nuances that i missed the first time around. i love the ending! i think i know how the theme relates, but i’m wondering how the rest of you interpreted it since the theme was never blatantly mentioned. what do you guys think?!? i’m curious!
Hi guys, thank you all for watching the film! We hope you enjoyed it! Our film was extremely dark. This was a purposeful choice. Our film is actually a Public Service Announcement for safe sex / abstinence! LOL! In all seriousness, the other filmmakers and I wanted to challenge ourselves and see if we could successfully shoot a different genre of film than what is typically done during these 5 minute short competitions. Did you think we were successful? Anyway, one of the best things about filmmaking is that once you complete a film, it no longer belongs to you. It’s a bastardized art form! LOL. No one views a film in the exact same way as another. That said, we purposefully left a bit of vagueness in our film and we’ve heard numerous interpretations as to what was depicted in our film. It’s all been really fascinating! I’d love to hear your comments and thoughts!
Nice job guys!! I love how dark this is because it’s dark without being depressing or disgusting, yet it maintained shock value - even to someone with a heads-up on the story line. I also like the hand cam cinemetography - great idea.
I voted for you, I wish you the best!!
strong performance from male asian actor....but practice your cigarette smoking skills. I like the ending...looking forward to see more. I hope you win. Job well done.
Who is the main actor? He is a very natural actor. His expressions, mannerisms, and his gestures were to the point. Is he in other movies that I can view? Please respond...Thank u.
Great movie, but I think lead character needed more motivation and reason to kill his girlfriend. So what if he’s going to lose his job, he can get another, and if not, why not? So she’s pregnant, does that make him panic, feel trapped? If so, would have been nice to see how having a baby really really scares him. Just food for thought.
stephen! nice.
ive never seen you this serious before...its kind of scary....like you can kill someone...hahahahah. get it.
wow, this is a great commentary on the current dark state of the US with all the anxiety over job loss, home foreclosures, inflation, and the impending election! the lead guy is really fantastic, and kudos to the lead girl too. in reply to ramonsgil comment, this is only a five minute film. there is not enough time to develop the plot or characters as fully as you’d like but i think this team did a fantastic job with both. as to motivation, there seems to be plenty...the lead role seems to be a victim of some untreated psychological ailment. just look at his eyes after his mgr yelled at him.
This film set the par for the other movies and took it to a different level. Very gritty and dark and i loved every minute of it. The theme was well represented and left me wanting to know more. Did he kill his wife and unborn child just so he could make the headlines for the article the next day and keep his job? The movie deals with the stresses of working hard to provide for a family and the anguish everyone has to go through when something unexpected comes along. This was a “First Goodbye” but i hope it isn’t the final one of all the cast and crew. I would love to see more!
loved the ending. i agree with the decision to leave the ending as is. any further elaboration/explanation might take the film from brilliance to cheese. Good luck and i voted for you!
Can’t get, in 5 mins, why the possibility of not having a job would equate to killing your baby and/or mother of that baby. Film needs more time to flesh out his situation and make that believable.
This is a little dark.
