What are you talking about? Phelps has done extremely well. He broke his own world record and won by a finger tip.
The question is if Phelps or Park would’ve won if Australia’s Thorpedo hadn’t retired. The answer is a three way extremely tight race with possibly hundredths of seconds separating all three.
