That was my first thought too.

It’s kind of sad to hear that they’re willing to go crazy just from a medal which they’ll take from a little girl.

Hrm well technically if it’s true, China’s cheating.

Sore for what exactly? We got Gold and Silver in individual women’s gymnastics with China getting Bronze. Why cry over something else? Also we weren’t the ones to bring the age issue into question. Certain other countries made the complaint.

But USA claimed they could beat any one of any age. Hands down, it’s obvious China was better.

I don’t remember anyone saying that but ok…
I do remember every country, as usual, giving speeches of being able to win the events they wanted to. Every country including China were cocky. It’s typical of the Olympics. But that has nothing to do with the age of China’s team. You can’t suddenly start blaming the US or other countries for being cocky or confident about their team members just because the age of China’s team was called into question. I also don’t think any country would walk into the Olympics and say “Our team has no chance to beat China.” That would the most ridiculous morale booster ever…

Why do they have the minimum age so high? Fourteen sounds more reasonable.

What I ment was that after they all gave their routines, China was better. Not that USA wasn’t good it just China looked better.

I think what you’re looking for is how did the US win medals when they fell in the first rounds to which i answer: *shrug*

The floor exercise gave the US the gold in the individuals but I agree we should’ve gotten Bronze and the Chinese girl should’ve gotten the Silver. Unfortunately half the olympics has been horrible judging...as is usual also.

I guess it’s high. Most gymnasts retire after mid 20’s but they start young like 3 - 8.

Ok ok..so when it comes down to it both teams were bad and both got medals. This is still not on the topic of China’s team being questioned for ages. We can argue who deserved the medals forever but the thread was started to discuss China’s gymnastics team being possibly too young and the chances of these girls having their medals taking away. The fact that they are competing with their parent’s giving permission should be enough.

Well either way whoever is wrong, all the gymnasts did great.
