Nintendo makes me so sad. I buy the original DS, then a DS Lite, and now this bs. I am the saddest asian child.

I agree with you.  These console upgrades are driving me crazy.

Ebay won’t give you much.

I heard it’s going to come with mp3 playback.

How good is the camera though?

Top of the Comments Bottom of the Comments

3 megapixels apparently.

Top of the Comments Bottom of the Comments

That’s just as good if not better than a phone camera.

I’m happy with my digi.

How many pixels?

3 megapixels beats most cell phones. It’s not like you’re going to use a DS to record your vacation or something anyway. Although I’m kinda skeptical about if the upgrade is really worth it. I’m content with my screen size and speakers. I have my phone for pictures and if anything it’s much more practical. Plus I’m losing my GBA slot, I’d much rather have that than a camera I’ll never really use. It’s coming with a built-in web browser but last time they tried that it failed horribly. I guess the DS shop looks promising but how much memory can you really fit into a DS? Especially when it’s going to be smaller than the DS Lite. Maybe I’m just being too negative.

I just read that the new DSi has dropped GBA support. :/ Now I definitely don’t want it.

Are you serious? Sounds useless now.

Could be a rumor, but when you take things away it isn’t ‘improved’.

We don’t need a camera, we have real cameras for pictures or cellphones.

Music player is a nice add but everyone has a ipod/zune. Who want to waste battery life on music when you can be playing the ds.

I want a DS now.

True. But some games now want to have a camera feature like this one beauty game where you take a picture of yourself and it’ll give you tips. http://lan.girlybubble.com/2008/08/20/12/

For that reason it’ll be okay but for a digital camera, no way. Also you can always get a home brewed program for your DS to play MP3s.

I still like my DS lite.

Do they still make GBA games?

Top of the Comments Bottom of the Comments

No they do not, but stores still sell them.

Not as much as they use to.

You can read about it and get the actual details on the system specs here: http://kotaku.com/5057883/lets-compare-the-ds-lite-and-the-dsi
Btw the new screen causes you to lose significant battery life.

It’s not going to be released in the US until next year at least It may also have a higher pricetag as well.  Although it’s dropping the GBA support, it looks like you’ll be able to download stuff on the Wii and port it over to the DSi using a SD Card.

However, since it seems to cut battery life almost in half, it doesn’t seem like a good idea to upgrade to this, if you already have a DS Lite.
